All our dogs are fit and healthy, vaccinated, wormed and well cared for.
All Kelpies are registered with the Working Kelpie Council of Australia.
All Border Collies can be registered with the SAWSDA.
All pups are guaranteed. Full pedigrees are available.
 

Our dogs are in demand and, as we are not a "Puppy Factory" and breed to improve, our clients

have to place themselves on the waiting list. If you have "Preferred Client" status please contact us.

Working Definitions

These definitions are a guide only and clients must use their own judgment.

Started

·        Some training on a lead.
·        Keenness to work will override obedience.
·        Follows or rides on a motor bike or vehicle.
·        Interested in stock and going around them in an enclosed area.
·   Works according to natural ability.
·   Handler needs to be on foot.
·   Short practice sessions.
·       Will need time to bond to new handler. At least 6 weeks.

Well Started

·    May be unsettled in strange places.
·    Confident on a small mob. May not handle a big mob.
·    Makes a few mistakes.
·    Reasonably obedient depending on level of pressure.
·    May need a while to settle when working.
·    Brings small mobs of stock to the handler in easy situations.
·          Needs firm hand, good training and encouragement.
·    Needs time to bond with new handler. At least 6 weeks.

Trained

·    Mature in appearance.
·    May be unsettled in strange places.
·    Shows confidence in approach to stock it is used to working, in appropriate working conditions. Eg. If a  paddock dog – in a paddock. If a yard dog – in yards.
·    Acceptable level of obedience.
·    Keenness to work. Nature will depend on genetic make-up.
·        Yard dogs: Keen to force when required.
·    Needs time to bond with new handler. At least 6 weeks.
