A bit of History.
Over a number of years we have been transporting dogs to trials or delivering dogs to our clients. We have made (or bought), numerous trailers, manufactured various different configerations, and designed methods of moving our dogs in a safe and comfortable environment.
We have found that this dog transporter is the best we have ever had and we are now going to build another one.
It's so versatile! Use it for a dog transport. Use it for camping. Take it off and on your ute. Easy to wash and keep clean. Leave it in the shed when you don't use it.
Some lucky person is going to get the benefit of all our hard work and experiments.
The dog transporter fits onto a standard traytop and measures 1830 wide by 2200 long.
It is made of Bondor sheeting with full insulation and aluminium covering. The same type of product used in the manufacture of coolrooms.
The "Dog Box" is cool in summer and warm in winter with ventilation from side vents and air extractors on the top of the box. It is equipped with interior lights and additional tail lights, brake lights and indicators on the outside.
When it is mounted on a traytop it enables you to safely and comfortably transport your dogs and, if you wish, you can still pull a caravan or trailer.
The side doors are opened by gas struts and all doors can be left open during hot weather or closed at night to generate comfortable heat for the dogs to sleep. All doors are lockable. It is very easy to keep clean and can be hosed out.
Current Set-up.
Currently there is housing for 8 large dogs. Each enclosure is lockable and all dogs are kept seperate. Sometimes, we have carried two smaller dogs in one enclosure, so they are quite a generous size.
Dog Comfort
Working dogs need to be able to rest whilst travelling and not be continuously bounced around in trailers or other methods of transport that has harsh suspension.
Show dogs and racing dogs are no different. They need to lie down in comfort and not be subjected to heat or cold even on the hottest travelling days or on long overnight trips.
When they arrive at their destination they need to be prepared to perform or compete at the highest level.
This Ultimate Dog Transporter does it's utmost to see to the comfort and the eventual highest performance from your dogs.
Multiple Uses.
The dog enclosures are easily removed and the whole structure could be used for camping or the storage of valuables. It will easily fit a double swag with tons of room for personal effects and food.
People who wish to transport show dogs, greyhounds, trial dogs or want to have a camping holiday will just love the versatility of this transporter. Once you have finished with it...just put it in the shed until you need it again. It's not fixed onto your ute and you can still use your ute as a traytop.
Slides On and Off or, use it on a trailer
The "Dog Box" is lightweight and can easily be removed from a traytop. We jack it up with 4 side-winder jacks and drive the vehicle away. Additionally, it could be mounted on a trailer and towed behind any vehicle...either as a camping trailer with secure overnight sleeping or to transport dogs.
Price
Not taking into consideration the amount of time in planning and sourcing the special hardware, this transporter cost around $6000.00 to finish.
We are going to sell it for $3700.00. You can't buy a little dog trailer for that!
Delivery
The purchaser can pick up the "Dog Box" at the Working Dog Centre near Wilmington in SA or we can arrange to have it delivered to Adelaide at the purchasers' cost.
Please note that the side-winder jacks are not included in the price but, if the purchaser wishes to have them, we are willing to discuss the matter with them.
